The year: circa 1,000,000 AD, the setting: across the Milky Way galaxy. Janos Hellion has been down on his luck the last five years. Once a well-respected member of the scientific community, he currently lives on a dismal rock called 'Colony IV', a place the galaxy's unemployed and unemployable call home. His downward spiral began when he took an internship on a research station, under the command of his mentor and idol, Dr. Horvath Cambridge. Horvath had always been criticized for his far-fetched ideas about invisible entities from another universe rummaging through our own, but when Janos returned to the station from a supply run and found the place abandoned, he realized not everything was quite what it seemed. Not only was the station abandoned by Horvath and his personnel, all of Janos's personal and financial records had been erased from the citizen's database. Furthermore, Janos went on to discover government orders to shut down Horvath's operation and seize all his resources. Evidently, the good doctor wasn't being too honest about his credibility. Now, it's five years later, and Janos is busy trying to find some kind of employment, before his landlords on Colony IV decide he's worn out his welcome. While desperately searching for acceptance on a job fair station, he just so happens to run into Dr. Cambridge again. Only this time, he ends up being taken against his will to join Horvath's latest crusade. The doctor tells him about 'Anomaly 1-9-4', which he believes to be a permanent tear in the fabric of space and time. He plans to lead a team of like-minded individuals there, in order to carry them to a higher level of being. Religious extremism starts to come into play, as Janos awakens on a transport to find that the once highly regarded man of science, is essentially ferrying a cult to an uncertain fate. The journey leads him to the galactic rim, where alien transports are relied upon to carry them the rest of the way to the anomaly, and presumably, to the home of Horvath's theorized interdimensional deities. In a separate plot, Drellic awakens on Mars, mere hours after the events of 'The Wicked Descend'. Aia has decided to rejuvenate his body and give him another chance for redemption, but at a steep price. He's taken to Aia's true birthplace, where he encounters more entities like her. These entities inform him of the conditions of his new lease on life, and give him a very special role to play in mankind's future. Drellic's return to our reality ties in greatly with the mysterious Anomaly 1-9-4, and the fate of those trying to cross its threshold. Read more
